Ara : Some miscreants strangulated to death a shop-keeper Badri Bhagat, 23, son of Jagarnath Bhagat of village Bampali under Gajrajganj Police Outpost and burnt the body by sprinkling Kerosene Oil with a view to erasing evidence. Later, they hid the burnt body under heap.
Police recovered the body from Scheduled Castes Tola on February 7, 2020, morning, and brought it over to Ara Sadar hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Gajrajganj Police Outpost in this connection and police are investigating the matter. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
SHO, Gajrajganj Police Outpost, Manish Kumar said that Badri Bhagat had gone to Scheduled Caste Tola on February 6, 2020, late evening, from his home after having dinner but did not return. Meanwhile, some person of the Tola informed that the body of Badrgi Bhagat was lying in the Tola. Hearing this, Badri’s family members informed police and then rushed to the spot. Police also arrived at the spot and recovered the body. The SHO said that some miscreants had strangulated Badri to death and later burnt his body. He also said that the miscreants killed him at some unknown place and threw the body at Scheduled Caste Tola.
Usha Devi, wife of the deceased, said that her husband used to go to Musahar Toli to take liquor and when he did not return on February 6, 2020, the family members searched for him and found his half burnt body at Scheduled Caste Tola.
