New Delhi : The President of India Ram Nath Kovind on December 29, 2019, presented Dada Saheb Phalke Award to Amitabh Bachchan, 77, for his outstanding and invaluable contribution to cinema spanning over five decades at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, according to a PIB release.
Union I & B Minister Prakash Javadekar and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Dada Saheb Phalke Award is India’s highest film honour. Amitabh was accompanied by his wife and noted actor Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishekh Bachchan, actor.
