Ranchi (Jharkhand) :  Taking up  populist decisions at its first cabinet meeting after taking oath, CM Hemant Soren led Cabinet on December 29, 2019, decided to drop all cases against those who had opposed Chotanagpur Tenancy Act and Pathalgadhi stone throwing incidents.

At the Cabinet meeting, which was  attended by Alamgir Alam, Rameshwar Oraon, both Congress,  and Satyanand Bhokta, RJD,  it was decided to convene Winter Session of Jharkhand Assembly from January 6 to 8, 2020, in which senior JMM leader Stephen Marandi, who won from Maheshpur assembly constituency,  will be Pro-tem Speaker. The cabinet even decided to make all long due payments of para-.teachers as well as Anganwadi employees.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Working President Hemant Soren, 44,  took oath as Jharkhand chief minister for a second time on December 29, 2019, at a ceremony attended by a galaxy of opposition leaders and regional satraps, in a show of unity. Attired in white kurta-pyjama ensemble and a Nehru jacket, Hemant was sworn in as the 11th chief minister of the state by Governor Droupadi Murmu.
