Patna : World No 36 Sourabh Verma, 26, India, entered the semi-finals of Ecogreen Syed Modi International Badminton Championships, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 event, at Lucknow, UP, India, on November 29, 2019, but 3rd seed and World No 12 Kidambi Srikanth, 26, India, lost in the quarter-finals to 7th seed Son Wan Ho, South Korea.

Sourabh beat World No 41 Kunlavut Vitidsarn, 18, Thailand, in straight games 21-19, 21-16 in 40 minutes in quarter-finals at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow. Sourabh won 42 rallies in the match to 35 by Kunlavut. Both the players won 5 consecutive points each in the match. It was first meeting between the two players.

World No 43 Son Wan Ho, 31, upset World No 12 Kidambi Srikanth in straight games 21-18, 21-19 in 45 minutes to enter the SFs of the tournament. Son won 42 rallies in the match to 37 by Srikanth. Hee won 61 rallies in the match to 49 by Peng. He won 8 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Peng. The two players are now locked 2-2 Head to Head.
