Patna : Top seed and two-time World Champion Kento Momota, 25, Japan, edged past 2017 World Campion and 7th seed Viktor Axelsen, 25, Denmark, in a pulsating 77 minutes quarter-finals at Haixia Olympic Sports Centre, Fuzhou, China, November 8, 2019.to enter the semi-finals of Fuzhou China Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event.

World No Momota outlasted World No 6 Axelsen 21-18, 12-21, 21-16 in the QFs. The match saw several long rallies between the two players.
