Patna : Chasing a target of 383 runs, England were 166/6 in their 2nd innings at tea on Day 5 in the 4th Ashes test against Australia at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, UK, on September 8, 2019, with Jos Butter unbeaten on 30 in 96 balls hitting 3 fours and fast bowler Craig Overton unbeaten on 12 in 47 balls with 1 four. Buttler and Overton have so far added 28 runs in 95 balls for the 7th wicket. England need 217 runs to win the test with only 4 wickets in hand and 2 hours play left.

Resuming at their overnight score of 18/2, Jason Roy and Joe Denly added 64 runs for the 3rd wicket. Roy fell to Pat Cummins for 31 in 67 balls with 4 fours making it 66/3. All-rounder of Ben Stokes, the hero of 3rd test, fell to Cummins for 1 run making it 74/4. Denly fell to spinner Nathan Lyon for 5 and it 93/5. Jonny Bairtow fell to fast bowler Mitchell Starc for 25 in 61 balls hitting just 1 four and it was 138/6. Bairstow and Buttler added 45 runs for the 6th wicket.

For Australia, pat Cummins has so far taken 4/41 in 20 overs. Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon have taken one wicket each.
