Federer demolishes Goffin to enter US Open QFs

Patna : Five-time champion and World No 3 Roger Federer, 38, Switzerland, entered quarter-finals of US Open at New York City, USA, demolishing World No 15 David Goffin, 28, Belgium, in straight sets in Round of 16. Federer crushed Goffin 6-2, 6-2, 6-0 at Arthur Ashe Stadium hammering 10 Aces.

Federer, winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, won 9 break points to 2 by Goffin. He also won 9 games in a row in the match to 2 by Goffin, who had recently reached the final of Cincinnati final in USA. Federer won 43 service points to 20 by Goffin. Federer now leads Goffin 9-1 Head to Head. Federer had also defeated Goffin in final of Halle Open in Germany in 2019.
