Ara : A  team of officials led by SDO, Ara, Arun Prakash, on September 1, 2019, conducted raids at about five dozen shops selling Pan Masala of different brands at Railway Station, Eastern Railway Crossing, Shaheed Bhawan, and Bus Stand localities under Town and Nawada police station areas, Ara,  and seized Pan Masla of different brands worth about Rs 10,000.

SDO Arun Prakash said that the Bihar government has banned sale and purchase of Pan Masala of almost every brand and the Bhojpur district administration is implementing it in letter and spirit. He warned the shop owners selling Pan Masala saying if they were caught selling Pan Masala in any form heavy fine would be imposed on them and they might even be jailed after lodging FIR against them. He said that Pan Masala contain Magnesium Carbonate that is injurious to health.
