Ara : Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar suspended five police personnel including a Havildar with immediate effect for dereliction of duty and traffic jam on Ara-Patna main road at Koelwar on September 1, 2019.

TheĀ  police personnel placed under suspension are : Havildar Ravindra Paswan, and Constables : Deena Nath Yadav, Faiyaz, Md Ansari, and Manoj Kumar.

Bhojpur SP said that police personnel have been deputed at both end of the Abdul Bari Bridge or Koelwar Bridge over river Sone at Koelwar to regulate traffic and were equipped with Walkie-Talkie but the aforesaid police personnel did not bother to use the Walkie-Talkie causing traffic jam on Koelwar bridge. He said that traffic remains jam for long hours almost daily and long queue of all types of vehicles is seen on either side of the Bridge causing a lot of problems to passengers and others.

The SP said that police personnel deputed on either end of the Bridge are given Walkie-Talkie so that they could communicate before allowing vehicles to pass from one end to another but these police personnel seldom used the Walkie-Talkie. He said that on August 31, 2019, a long queue of vehicles was seen on either side of the Bridge for long due to dereliction of duty on their part. He said that the police personnel admitted that they had not used the Walkie-Talkie for the last three months.
