Raxaul (East Champaran) : The SSB sleuths, on a tip off, on July 28, 2019, intercepted a person near Indo-Nepal border at Lal Chhapra under Adapur police station in East Champaran district, and seized 520 Gram Morphine, a pain medication, from his possession. The SSB officials handed him over to Adapur police for appropriate action. Adapur is about 41 km away from Motihari, headquarters of East Champaran district in North Bihar.
SSB Inspector Vivek Kumar said the arrested person identified as Imteyaz is native of Kaleya in Nepal and is a drug peddler runninga drug racket in bordering areas. Police registered a case against Imteyaz under Narcotic Drug & Psychotropic Substances Actr and sent him to jail at Motihari on July 29, 2019.
