Ara : Bhojpur police claim that a sex racket was being run in Ashok Nagar locality in Patna and arrested two persons : Anita Devi, wife of Sanjay Ram of Maniyaksh under Sandesh police station in Bhjpur district, and Sanjeet alias Sonu alias Chhotu, son of Bigtan Mahto of Kadamkuan, Patna, in this connection on July 19, 2019, and brought them over to Ara on July 20.
Police are also conducting raids to arrest other persons involved in the racket. Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar had formed a police team under SDPO, Ara, Pankaj Kumar, to arrested them. The police team is conducting raids in Patna and also at different places in Bhojpur district. Bhojpur SP is himself monitoring the case.
Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said that a minor girl of Kabirganj Chhoti Mathia locality under Ara town police station somehow slipped away from the clutch of her tormentors and reached Ara police station. She informed police that about a month ago, one Anita Devi came to her and said that she would bring her up in a better manner than her brother and also got her admitted to a school. She brought her over to Patna where she pushed her into flesh trade. Whenever she protested, Anita Devi and others thrashed her, the girl said. She revealed that a sex centre is being run from a rented house near the bus stand at Patna on bypass . Her brother had lodged a named FIR against Anita Devi and Chhotu for dragging minor and teenage girls into flesh trade. Police brought the girl over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination.
The SP said that during interrogation, the arrested sex centre owners disclosed names of two of their associates. Bhojpur police conducted raids at Jakkanpur, Rajendra Nagar, Ram Krishna Nagar, and Bhopatpur localities in Patna to arrest the persons involved in the racket. The girl revealed that a number of while collared persons visited the centre.
The SP said that Anita Devi and Chhotu came to Kabirganj under Ara Town police station after the girl escaped from their sex centre at Patna to take her back but the residents of the area caught them and handed them over to police. Anita and Chhotu said that the girl had fled away with their mobile phones and them they had come to take them back but policedid not believe them and arrested them. Police seized the mobile phons.
