Patna : Eight children were killed and 10 others injured after lightning struck them at village Dhanpur Musahari under Kashichak police station in Nawada district on July 19, 2019, during rains. The lightning struck the children when they were playing under a Banyan tree. The injured, who sustained burn injuries, were admitted to a Government Hospital.
Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon and CM Nitish Kumar have expressed their shock and grief over the death of eight children in the incident. The Chief Minister has ordered for payment of an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of all the deceased.
