NIA conducts raids on premises of former MLC Hulas Pandey, brother Santosh Pandey

Ara : National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at the residence of former MLC and LJP leader Hulas Pandey and Santosh Pandey, both brothers of former MLA Narendra Kumar Pandey alias Sunil Pandey, on June 20, 2019,  morning,  at Patel Nagar, Patna, Charitarvan at Buxar, and at the residence of his relative Laddu Pandey. at village Tilath  under Piro police station in Bhojpur district.

Santosh Pandey has sprawling bungalow known as Pandey House on  Dr B Bhattacharya Road under Shashtrinagar police station, Patna. Hulas Pandey too has his own house at Patel Nagar, Patna. Both of them have their houses at Charitarvan in Buxar too.  Hulas Pandey and Sunil Pandey are in active politics while Santosh Pandey has a construction business.

A team of NIA along with district police and CRPF conducted raids at their residences at Patna and in Buxar and also at the residence of their relative Laddu Pandey at Tilath under Piro police station in Bhojpur district simultaneously. It was said that the raid was conducted in connection with smuggling of firearms and fake dealing in cash. It was alleged that Hulas Pandey and Santosh Pandey had bought AK-47 and the matter is related with the recovery of AK-47 from Munger and the NIA got clue in this regard during investigation.

When the NIA team conducted raids at Patna, Hulas Pandey and Santosh Pandey were present and the NIA team is reportedly  interrogating them under custody. The raids and interrogation were on till the time of filing of this report.

On the other hand, Sunil Pandey said that he had nothing to do with the NIA raids at the residences of his brothers. He is a politician and he and his brothers live separately.
