Patna: Additional district and sessions judge II, Chhpra, on Wednesday convicted Meena Devi, the then principal of Gandaman Middle School in Saran district and found her guilty under sections 304 and 308 of IPC. Her husband Arjun Rai,who was supplier of foodgrains to the school for mid-day meal (MDM), was acquitted for lack of evidence. On July 16, 2013, twentythree children had died after consuming mid-day meal at the school. Court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on August 29.Prosecution had presented 40 witnesses during the trial.
