Ara: A woman was allegedly killed by her in-laws at village Ekwari under Sahar police station in Bhojpur district on Tuesday for dowry. A named FIR has been lodged with Sahar police station against seven persons including the husband of the deceased on the statement of Chandeshwari Devi, her mother, but no arrest has so far been made in this regard. Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
The SHO, Sahar police station, said that Sarita Devi, daughter of Srinand Singh of Ghodkopar village under Udwantnagar police station, was married to Bheem Yadav, son of Sakun Yadav of Ekwari village under Sahar police station, in 2011. Ever since marriage, her in-laws were demanding more money in dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they hanged her with the fan and killed her on Tuesday.
