Thiem, the 4th seed and finalist here in 2018, beat World No 17 Gael and 14th seed Monfils, 32, France, in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in the 4yh round at Roland Garros, Paris, France. Thiem broke Monfils’ service 5 times in the match while the latter could break his service only once.
