Bagaha : As expected, the JD(U) won Valmikinagar parliamentary constituency (PC) in the General Elections 2019. The result was an open secret after the this parliamentary constituency went to the poll on May 12, 2019, as the voters had already to decided to once again make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister to give him a free hand to make the country strong in all respect and to give a befitting reply to Pakistan.
PM Narendra Modi’ slogan “Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas” in his speech had had profound impact on the voters who voted for the NDA breaking the caste barrier in view of the considerable development schemes executed in the area under Bihar CM’s ‘Saat Nishchay’ yojana, prohibition, construction of roads, bridges, drinking water and electricity supply to every house.
JD(U) nominee and former Minister Baidyanath Mahto polled 5,35,948 votes (55.93%) and was elected. Congress nominee Shashwat Kedar obtained 2,88,860 votes (30.14 %) and finished second. Congress’ defeat was a clear on the polling day as its polling agents were not seen on a large numbers of polling booths out of 1,701 polling booths.. Many local congress workers were ignorant about the candidature of Shashwat Kedar. BSP candidate and Managing director Tirupati sugars Ltd Bagaha Deepak Yadav secured 3rd position securing 37,753 votes ( 2.93 %).
