Woman killed for Rs 1 lakh cash, bike at Buxar village, no arrest

Buxar : A newly married woman Baby Kumari was killed at her in-laws’ place at village Dasiyaw under Nawanagar police station in Buxar district on April 26, 2019, night, just for a motorcycle and Rs 1 lakh in cash. The accused performed the last rites in a hurry to erase evidence.

A named FIR was lodged by Nawanagar police against four persons including the husband of the deceased on the statement of her father Tej Narayan Ram of village Koath under Dawath police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard though the police are conducting raid to arrest the named accused.

SHO, Nawanagar police station, Zunaid Alam said that Tej Narayan Ram of village Koath under Dawath police station had got his daughter Baby Kumari married with Manan Ram, son of Munna Ram of Dasiyaw village under Nawanagar police station in May 2018 and ever since was being tortured by her in-laws for a motorcycle and Rs 1 lakh in cash and when their demands were not fulfilled, they killed her and also disposed of the body.

Tej Narayan Ram said that on getting information about the death of his daughter, he rushed to Dasiyaw village and found that the in-laws killed his daughter and escaped from the place. He said that he instituted a named FIR with Nawanagar police station against her husband Manan Ram, father-in-law Munna Ram, brother-in-law Chandan Ram, and mother-in-law in this connection.
