Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 5 wickets in the 29th match of IPL-12 at  Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on April 14, 2019, night, with all-rounder Ravindraq Jadeja scoring an unbeaten 31 in 17 balls hitting 5 fours and Suresh Raina scoring an unbeaten 58 in 42 balls hitting 7 fours and a six. Jadeja and Raina added 41 runs in 24 balls for the 6th wicket. Captain M S Dhoni scored 16 runs while Faf du Plessis made 24 with 5 fours. OpenerShane Watson made 6. Replying to KKR’s 161/8 in 20 overs, CSK scored 162/5 in 19.4 overs. CSK had won the toss but opted to bowl. It was CSK’s 6th win in 7 matches this year.

Batting first, KKR made 161/8 with opener Chris Lynn scoring 82 in 51 balls hitting 7 fours and 6 sixes while his opening partner Sunil Narine fell to spinner Mitchell Santner for 2. Lynn and Narine added 36 runs for the 1st wicket. Nitish Rana fell to spinner Imran Tahir for 21 in 18 balls with 3 fours. Robin Uthappa also fell to Tahir for zero making it 80/3. Captain Dinesh Karthik ( wk) fell to fast bowler Shardul Thakur for 18 while Andre Russel fell to Tahir for 10. Tahir had earlier also accounted for Lynn. Lynn had hit 3 consecutive sixes in the 14th over bowled by Ravindra Jadeja. Subham Gill fell Shardul Thakur for 15.

For CSK, Imran Tahir took 4/27 in 4 overs while Shardul Thakur took 2/18 in 4 overs. Mitchell Santner took 1/30 in 4 overs.
