Motihari : Former Junior Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) president Upendra Kushwaha was on April 3, 2019, granted bail by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, IX, Motihari, Bhupendra Singh, in a case relating to alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct during 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

The court had issued warrant against Upendra Kushwaha on November 29, 2012.  After a lapse of 7 years, he surrendered before the court on April 3, 2019, and was granted bail by ACJM Bhupendra Singh ACJM.

A case was registered against Upendra Kushawaha with Chakia police station in East Champarn district under the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act by the SDM, Chakia, on March 3, 2009, after his poster was found hanging on an electric pole near Chakia. He was in JD(U) at that time.
