Police arrest notorious criminal Saurabh Suman from Chakia

Motihari :  The elections to Purvi Champaran, Paschimi Champaran, and Sheohar parliamentary constituencies will be held in sixth phase on May 12, 2019, and the respective district administration are gearing up to hold free, fearless, impartial polls.

The East Champaran district comprises 12 assembly constituencies of which six assembly segments fall in Purvi Champaran parliamentary constituency, 3  in Shohar, and 3 in Paschimi Champaran constituency. East Champaran DM and Returning Officer for Sheohar constituency said that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure free and fair election in these constituencies. All the polling booths under Patahi block, a naxal hit area under Chiraiya assembly segment, have been decleared sensitive.

East Champaran SP Upendra Kumar Sharma said that  25,000 persons have been identified as trouble makers and action has been initiated against them. That apart, 10 prisoners lodged in Motihari Central jail were transferred to Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Buxar jails. Around 2,000  warrantees were arrested in special drive and 14 cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct
were lodged in the district against different political parties.

In an important development, a East Champaran police team arrested notorious Saurabh Suman, 20, from Chakia. He was wanted  in 21 criminal cases including murder of Bablu Dubey at Bettiah, headquarters of West Champaran district. SP, East Champaran, Upendra Kumar Sharma, said that police recovered an automatic pistol and 5 live cartridges from his possession. Police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head.  Saurabh Suman was evading arrest for the last 3 years
and engaged in contract killing in areas on Indo-Nepal border.

According to police sources, Suman had escaped from Remand Home and is accused in 5 murder cases in Ghorasahan, Bettiah, Motihari.
