KXIP beat DC by 14 runs in 13th match of IPL-12, Sam Curran takes 4/11

Patna : Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Delhi Capital (DC) by 14 runs in the 13th match of IPL-12 at Punjab Cricket Association I S Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on April 1, 2019, late night, with medium fast bowlers Sam Curran taking 4/11 in 2.2 overs, Mohammad Shami 2/27 in 4 overs, and Hardus Viljoen 1/22 in 3 overs. KXIP captain Ravichandran Ashwin took 2/31 in 4 overs.

Chasing a target of 167, DC were all out for 152 in 19.2 overs. They needed 15 runs in the last over with two wickets in hand but lost both the wickets on the first two balls bowled by Sam Curran, 20, to be all out for 152. DC were in a good position to win the match and were 144/4 after 16.4 overs but collapsed to be all out for 152. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan scored 0 and 30 runs respectively while captain Shreyas Iyer scored 28 and Rishabh Pant (wk) 39. Colin Ingram made 38. Hanuma Vihari fell to Mohammad Shami for duck.

Earlier, batting first KXIP had scored 166/9 in 20 overs with David Miller scoring 43 and Sarfaraz Khan 30.
