Patna : A Patna Police team on March 20, 2019, night, arrested notorious gangster and former leader of Bikers’ Gang Shubham Jyoti along with his associate from 90 feet road in AG Colony under Shastrinagar police station, Patna. Police also recovered a pistol, one magazine, three live cartridges, two sharp swords, a four-wheeler, one two-wheeler, three cellphones, and 253 bottles of IMFL from the possession of the arrested criminals.
Acting on secret information that half a dozen criminals had assembled on 90 feet road, Patna SSP Garima Mallik
constituted a police team led by Sachivalaya DSP Rajesh Kumar and comprising SHO, Shastrinagar PS, Nehar Bhushan to arrest the criminals.
As the police team reached the spot on March 20 night, they saw some persons talking with a four-wheeler and two-wheeler parked nearby. As they saw police team, they fled away from there. But the police team encircled the criminals and arrested two of them while rest of them escaped from there. During interrogation, the arrested persons identified themselves as Shubham Jyoti, and Vishwajit Kunwar alias Ayush Raj.
In presence of independent witnesses, police recovered one loaded countrymade pistol, three live cartridges besides a magazine from the possession of Shubham Jyoti. When the police team searched the four-wheeler, they found sharpedged swords from there. Shubham told police that the four-wheeler belonged to him.
During interrogation, the arrested criminals revealed the names of their other associates, who had fled away from the spot. Shubham told police that they had assembled there to commit some crime and then escape from there on the vehicles seized by
police.
Police said that during interrogation, Shubham revealed that he was engaged in storing of IMFL and supplying liquor to Patna andother districts. Based on his revelations, a police team raided a shop near Durga Mandir in Board Colony and recovered 235 bottles of IMFL of different brands. Police said that Shubham was evading arrest in connection with one
dozen cases lodged with Shastrinagar, Rajeev Nagar, and Patliputra police stations in the state capital.
