Patna : World No 44 Dusan Lajovic, 28, Serbia, stunned World No 6 Kei Nishikori, 29, Japan, in the 2nd round of Miami Open at Florida, USA, on March 22, 2019. Lajovic beat Nishikori in three-sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in 1hr 55 minutes to march into the 3rd round of the tournament.

Lajoviv broke Nishikori’s service 5 times in the match while the latter broke his service thrice. Nishikori served 3 Aces in the match to just 1 by Lajovic. Nishikori won 5 games in a row to 4 by Lajovic.

World No 14 Milos Raonic, 28, Canada, also entered the 3rd round after his second round opponent and World No 101 Maximilian Marterer, 23, Germany, retired before the match due to injury. Raonic will face World No 22 Kyle Edmund, 24, UK, in the 3rd round.

World No 19 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 27, Georgia, beat World No 75 Mischa Zverev, 31, Germany, 6-3, 6-2 in 66 minutes to sail into the 3rd round. Nikoloz broke Mishcha Zverev’s service 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service once. Nikoloz also won 3 games in a row in the match. Mischa fired 6 Aces in the match to 5 by Nikoloz. Nikoloz’s winning percentage on both on his first and second (71% & 68%) was much better than that of Mischa (57% & 44%).
