Kumar Rajiv Nayan
Ara : A class VIII student of Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, Amroja, Shakuntala Kumari, 13, daughter of Satya Narayan Ram, a mason, of village Semrao under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of a classroom of her school around mid-night on March 14, 2019.
The matter came to light on March 15, 2019, morning, when other students saw her hanging from the ceiling and raised an alarm. Later, police along with family members of the girl rushed to Sadar Hospital, Ara, with body for post-mortem. Police officials also reached the school and investigated into the incident from different angles. An FIR has been lodged with Charpokhari police station in this connection but the reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
SHO, Charpokhari police station, said that Shakuntala Kumari was a student of Kasturba Gandhi Residential School at Amroja under Charpokhari police station. She was a class VIII student and lived at the school hostel. She was feeling disturbed for the last few months and the teachers of the school always counselled her.
