College teacher shot dead in Munger

Jamalpur ( Munger): A teacher of S B N College, Garhi Rampur under Nayaramnagar police station in Munger district, Vijay Sharma was shot dead by two persons at village Parham on Saturday evening. S B N College is an affiliated college.  The clod blooded murder of a college teacher at village Parham on NH-80 has triggered panic among the villagers who blocked the NH-80 in protest.

Police said that when  Vijay Sharma was talking to about  a dozen villagers,two young persons appeared there and shot at the college teacher after singling him out.The villagers sitting there were taken aback and by the time they reacted, the assaillants had escaped. Sharma died on the spot.

Munger SP Ashish Bharti said that the cause of the murder was some old land dispute with another family of the village. SHO, Nayaramnagarpolice station, Kumar Sunni, said that the villagers blocked NH 80 after the incident. The blockade was lifted after the officials assured the villagers that the accused will be arrested very soon.The villagers had blocked main Munger- Lakhisarai road soon after the incident.
