Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday claimed that flood situation in the state was under control and people should feel relaxed.
Nitish, on his return from an aerial survey of the flood affected areas of central Bihar, said due to heavy rains in neighbouring Jharkhand and catchment areas of Sone river, Arwal, Gaya, Jehanabad, Rohtas, Nalanda, Nawada, got flooded.He said four lakh CFT of water was discharged from Indrapuri barrage leading to floods in downstream.

Nitish held a meeting with divisional commissioner of Magadh division and DMs of  flood -hit districts in central Bihar and directed the officials to remain alert and keep watch on rains in Chatra and Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.
Nitish had  left for an aerial survey after a special cabinet meeting to approve the GST Bill which was passed by the Parliament and would be debated in special session of Bihar legislature on Tuesday.
