Ara : Under mounting pressure, two lovebirds reached Nawada police station, Ara, and surrendered before police saying they had tied the knot at a temple. Police sent the youth to Ara jail and the girl to her in-laws on February 24, 2019, morning. Police would get the statement of the girl recorded under Section 164 of CrPC in the court on February 25, 2019.

SHO, Nawada police station in Bhojpur district, said that two lovebirds had escaped from their houses in Anaith locality under the police station on February 7, 2019, and reached New Delhi where they tied the knot at a temple. Meanwhile, the mother of the girl lodged a named FIR with Nawada police station regarding kidnapping of her daughter. After that police started conducting raids at different places to recover them. The SHO said that the youth was sent to jail but no one came from the family of the girl. Later, the girl was sent to her in-laws as per her wish, he said.

In another incident, two lovebirds reached Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on February 23, 2019, late evening and said that they had the knot at a temple.

SHO, Bihia police station, said that the girl was from Koaap village while her lover was from village Pasaur under Charpokhari police station and were in love for the last one year. Three days ago, both of them fled away from their houses as their family members were not ready for their marriage. They reached Ara where they tied the knot at a temple. Later, they went to Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh. When they came to know that the mother of the girl had filed an FIR with Bihia police station and  police and villagers were searching for them, they reached the Bihia police station. The SHO said that both are adults police would produce the girl before the court on February 25 to get her statement registered under Section 164 of CrPC.
