Army personnel dies under mysterious circumstances in Bhojpur

Ara : An army personnel Brij Mohan Paswan was killed under mysterious circumstances at village Baghi Pakad under Dhobaha police outpost area in Bhojpur district on February 18, 2019, Monday late evening. An FIR has been lodged with Dhobaha police outpost and  police are investigating the case.

Quoting the FIR, the SHO, Dhobaha police outpost, Nikunj Bhushan, said that Brij Mohan Paswan, 25, son of Shiv Ji Ram of village Baghi Pakad, was married to Monika Kumari, 22, daughter of Ram Babu Paswan, an RJD leader of Katira locality under Nawada police station, Ara, in April 2018. He joined 5 Bihar Battalion, Guard Regiment, in 2014 and was posted at Bhatinda in Punjab.

After the marriage, Monika Kumari had come to her in-laws only once and lived with her parents. Brij Mohan Paswan had come to his native village on leave on January 27, 2019, and was to return to his place of posting on February 23, 2019. On February 2, 2019, he went to his in-laws to bring his wife back but his father-in-laws refused to send his daughter and insisted on Brij Mohan Paswan to live with them at his sasural that triggered a tiff between Brij Mohan Paswan and  his in-laws. Brij Mohan was allegedly strangulated to death. Later, his in-laws threw the body outside his house at Baghi Pakad and escaped.  Police recovered the body from there.

Jai Kumar, deceased’s brother, said that the Monika Kumari always quarrelled with his brother and never wanted to live with him. He also said that she did not come to her in-laws’ place even to see the body of her husband.

On the other hand, Brij Mohan’s in-laws and wife  refuted all the charges and said that they had nothing to do with the death of Brij Mohan. They said that Brij Mohan fell in in the late evening on February 17, 2019, and was admitted to the Sadar Hospital, Ara,  where he died during treatment.

The doctors at the Sadar Hospital said that the deceased was brought to the Hospital where doctors referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital in a precarious condition but he died on way to the PMCH.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that the deceased was suffering from some diseases and was undergoing treatment but the Brij Mohan’s family members alleged that his in-laws had strangulated him to death. The SP said that police are investigating the matter.
