Patna : French Open finalist in 2013 David Ferrer, 36, Spain, entered the 2nd round of ATP Buenos Aires, a 250 point event also known as Argentina Open, defeating World No 44 Malek Jaziri, 35, Tunisia, in the first round on February 13, 2019. World No 149 Ferrer beat Jaziri 7-6, 6-3 in the first round.

Ferrer, who has won 27 singles titles in his career, won 5 break points to 3 by Jaziri. He also won 4 games in a row to 2 by Jaziri. Ferrer’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve ( 69 % & 65 %) was better than that of Jaziri ( 59% & 40%). Jaziri served 3 Aces in the match to 1 by Ferrer, who had reached semi-finals of Australian Open in 2011 and 2013. Ferrer had also reached semi-finals of US Open in 2007 and 2012.
