Patna : World No 211 in ATP rankings Tallon Griekspoor, 22, Netherlands, stunned World No 11 and 2nd seed Karen Khachanov, 22, Russia, in the first round of ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, an ATP 500 points event, at Rotterdam, Netherlands, on February 13, 2019. Griekspoor beat Khachanov 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in 1hr 39 minutes in the first round.

Griekspoor won 3 break points to 1 by Khachanov, who had defeated World No 1 Novak Jkokovic, 31, in the final of Paris Masters on November 4, 2018, in straight sets. Top seed and World No 7 Kei Nishikori, 29, Japan, defeated World No 36 Pierre-Hugues Herbert, France, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in 2 hr 11 minutes in the first round. Herbert served 6 Aces in the match to none by Nishikori. Nishikori won 3 break points to 1 by Herbert, who had reached the final of Open Sud de France last week.
