Srikanth is World No 8 in BWF rankings, Sameer Verma is World No 16

Patna : Reigning world champion Kento Momota, 24, Japan, remains World 1 with 1,00,870 points in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on November 22, 2018. Momota has played 16 tournaments this year. She Yuqi, 22, China, and Chou Tien Chen, 28, Taiwan, are World No 2 and World No 3 with 87,282 and 82,024 points respectively. Former World No 1 Viktor Axelsen, 24, Denmark, is World No 4 with 75, 974 points from 12 tournaments.

Kidambi Srikanth, 25, India, is ranked World No 8 with 63,365 points from 15 tournaments. But, Sameer Verma, 24, India, has jumped two places to be ranked World No 16 with 49,201 points from 19 tournaments. H S Prannoy, 26, India, is World No 23 with 45,610 points from 12 tournaments while B Sai Praneeth, India, is World No 28 with 43,627 points from 16 tournaments. Subhankar Dey and Sourabh Verma, both India, are World No 49 and World No 50 respectively.

Ajay Jairam ( 29,120 points) and Parupalli Kashyap ( 28,900 points), both India, are World No 51 and World No 52 respectively. R M V Gurusaidutt, India, is World No 75 with 21, 740 points from 11 tournaments. Lakshya Sen, 17, India, is World No 91 with 18,418 points from 9 tournaments.
