Mother of two kids Sarita Devi killed at in-laws’ place at Saharsa village

Patna : Police are yet to arrest any accused in connection with murder of Sarita Devi, 30, allegedly by her husband Subodh Paswan with the help of his second wife and family members on November 21, 2018, afternoon, at village Lakhni under Mahishi police station in Saharsa district. Sarita’s kin have charged Subodh Paswan and his family member with killing her.

Sarita Devi, mother of two children, was married to Subodh Paswan, son of Bhuvaneshwar Paswan of village Lakhni, six years back and was ever since was being tortured by her husband and in-laws for dowry, according to her father Kailash Paswan of village Bara Bharna under Bihra police station in Saharsa district. Two yeas back Subodh Paswan had married another woman of village Lakhni. Sarita always protested his second marriage.

Finally, on November 21 afternoon, Sarita was hanged to death allegedly by her husband Subodh Paswan with the help of his second wife and family members after which all of them fled away, alleged deceased’s kin. On getting information, police reached village Lakhni and sent the body to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, for post-mortem. Police have started investigation into the incident.
