Woman killed for dowry in Bagaha, husband arrested

Bagaha : Jyoti Devi, 22, wife of Amrendra Kumar Jaiswal, a resident of Pathakauli under Pathakauli Police Outpost in Bagaha police district, was killed for dowry allegedly by her in-laws on November 11, 2018.

Incharge, Pathakauli Police Outpost, Rajesh Kumar, said that the deceased’s brother Satyendra Kumar Jaiswal of Ramdhan Mandir locality under Bagaha town police station had lodged a case under Prevention of Dowry Act with the police station making her husband and five in-laws including father- in- law, mother- in-law named accused.

SDPO, Bagaha, Sanjiv Kumar, who visited the place of occurrence soon after getting information, said that body was sent to  Sub-Divisional Hospital, Bagaha, for autopsy. Jyoti’s husband Amrendra Kumar Jaiswal was arrested and sent to Bagaha Sub-Jjail, on November 12, 2018, the SDPO said. Police are searching for the other accused, he said.
