New Delhi : The Vice President (VP) of India M Venkaiah Naidu on November 12, 2018, condoled the passing away of Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar. In a message, Naidu said that Kumar was a valued colleague of him for years, right from the times of the students’ movement to the Parliament. A reputed parliamentarian and a captivating speaker, his personality was multifaceted, he added.
“I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn about the untimely demise of the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Anant Kumar. He has been a valued colleague of mine for years, right from the times of the students’ movement to the Parliament. He was a committed nationalist, a celebrated and loved leader and a good administrator. A reputed parliamentarian and a captivating speaker, his personality was multifaceted. His illustrious career and the long list of his accomplishments in public life bear testimony to the selfless service he offered to our country,” Naidu said in message .
“His demise is a big loss to Indian democracy and polity. I pray that the almighty gives strength and courage to his family, friends and loved ones to get through this very difficult time. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti,” Naidu said.
Union Minister of Steel, Chaudhary Birender Singh also expressed deep sadness on the demise of Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar. The Steel Minister, in a statement, said that Ananth Kumar personified great qualities of head and heart and was an epitome of compassion and service. Chaudhary Birender Singh recalled Ananth Kumar’s organising abilities and his leadership qualities and said as a veteran Parliamentarian he always left an indelible impression.
