Yufei to play Okuhara in BWF Fuzhou China Open final

Patna : World No 4 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Chen Yufei, 20, China, defeated reigning Olympic and World Champion Carolina Marin, 25, Spain, to enter the final of BWF Fuzhou China Open  on November 10, 2018. She will play World No 6 Nozomi Okuhara, 23, Japan, in the final.

Yufei beat Marin, the World No 5, in a three-game encounter 11-21, 21-15, 21-13 in 66 minutes in the women’s singles semi-finals on November 10, 2018, at Fuzhou, China. Yufei won 53 rallies in the match to 49 by Carolina Marin. Yufei won 6 consecutive points to 5 by Marin. Marin though leads Yufei 2-1 head to head.

Okuhara, the 2017 World Champion, beat World No 7 HE Bengjiao, 21, China, 21-13, 21-13 in 37 minutes in the semi-finals on November 10.
