Sharp drop in collection of Amitabh, Amir starrer ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ on day 2

Paytna : Yash Raj Films (YRF) production ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, which had done a record opening day business of over Rs 50 crore, registered a huge drop in its box office collection on the second day mainly due to negative review. The Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial did a business of only about Rs 28 crore on its second day across the country.

Made at a budget of about Rs 300 crore, the film was released on 5,000 screen in the country. Its Tamil and Telugu dubbed version collected Rs 1.5 crore taking its total collection on day 1 to over Rs 52 crore. The two-day collection of the film is now around Rs 80 crore. Many critics have described the film, a period drama, as boring and dull suggesting a tough time for it.
