Ara : Family members and acquaintances went on rampage and damaged properties of a private clinic at Narayanpur Bazaar under Narayanpur police station in Bhojpur district on October 30, 2018, night, after the death of a married woman Anita Devi, 34, on the operation table. They held the doctor responsible for the death of the woman. Doctor and all the employees of the private clinic fled away after the deceased’s family members went on rampage.
Later, police somehow pacified the protesters and brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Aea, around midnight the same day for post-mortem. A named FIR has been lodged with the police against four persons including Dr B K Singh, his wife Anita Singh, and Compounder Manoj Singh on the statement of the deceased’s husband Bira Yadav. Police detained Anita Singh but later released her after quizzing her.
SHO, Narayanpur police station, Birendra Paswan said that the family members brought Anita Devi, wife of Bira Yadav of village Bankat under Gadhani police station, at the private clinic of Dr B K Singh at Narayanpur Bazaar under Narayanpur police station on October 30 evening for the operation of uterus. She was taken to the operation theatre at about 8.30pm and was administered some medicine. Her condition deteriorated further and the doctor referred her to the Sadar Hospital but she breathed her last at the operation table.
