Prisoner dies under mysterious circumstances in W. Champaran

Bagaha: One Manager Mahto of village Khairaltia under Nawalpur police station in West Champaran dsitrict, who was lodged in Bettiah jail last week in a land dispute case, died at MJK Hospital, Bettiah, on July 23, 2018. His son Vijay Mahto was informed by jail authorities so late that when he reached the hospital his father had died.

Vijay Mahto alleged that his father died under mysterious circumstances. Vijay alleged the involvement of his father’s rival behind his death and demanded an inquiry into the matter. Police sources said that reason behind Manager Mahto’s death would be clear only after post-mortem arrives.
