Hajipur : Mukesh Sharma, 45, a staff at Saidpur Patera Toll Plaza under Sarai police station in Vaishali district in North Bihar, was shot dead by an unidentified man moving in a car around 5.30 pm on July 21, 2018. Saidpur Patera, on Hajipur – Muzaffarpur main raid, is 35 km away from Patna.

Locals said that a red Ford car reached Toll Plaza. When Sharma asked him to pay toll tax, the car driver had a heated exchange with him. Suddenly, the car driver took out a pistol and fired at Sharma killing him on the spot. The car driver fled from there with the vehicle. The car had entered the VIP lane to avoid paying toll tax. There were four persons in the car.
Agitated over the killing, the villagers placed the body on the main road paralysing traffic. They also damaged some vehicles. On getting information, local police reached the spot. The cops had  a tough time controlling the mob. The body was then sent to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
