Nadal, Djokovic, Kyrgios, Tiafoe enter 3rd round of Wimbledon

Patna : World No 1 in ATP rankings and twice champion Rafael Nadal, 32, Spain, World No 21 and three time champion Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, World No 52 Frances Tiafoe, 20, USA, and World No 18 Nick Krygios, 23, Australia, entered the 3rd round of Wimbledon tennis championship 2018 on July 5, 2018.

Nadal, who the Wimbledon singles title in 2008 and 2010, defeated World No 77 Mikhail Kukushkin, 30, Kazakhstan, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round. Nadal’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve was much better than that of his opponent.

The World No 1 but 2nd seed behind Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, the World No 2, Nadal fired 5 Aces in the match to 3 by Kukushkin. But, Nadal committed 3 double faults compared to just 1 by Kukushkin. Nadal, however, won 5 break points to 2 by his rival.

Djokovic, who won the Wimbledon singles title in 2011, 2014, and 2015, defeated World No 126 Horacio Zebaloss, 33, Argentina, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 in the second round. Djokovic fired 15 Aces in the match compared to 7 by Zebaloss, who committed 5 double faults. Djokovic’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve was also much than that of his rival. Djokovic won 6 break points.

Tiafoe defeated Julien Benneteau, 36, France, in four-sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. Tiafoe fired 22 Aces in the match compared to 13 by Benneteau. Benneteau committed 9 double faults to 2 by Tiafoe. Tiafoe won 6 break points while Benneteau won 2. Tiafoe’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve was also much better than that his rival.

Kyrgios beat World No 43 Rabin Haase, 31, Netherland, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the second round. Kyrgios fired 19 Aces in the match to 7 by Haase. Kyrgios, however, also committed 9 double faults compared to 4 by Haase. But, Kyrgios won 5 break points while Haase won just 2.
