Man sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment for daughter’s murder

Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge II, Ara, Harshit Singh on May 12, 2018, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment Lallan Singh in connection with murder of his daughter for the prestige of his family.

Public Prosecutor, Nageshwar Dubey, said that Puja Kumari, daughter of Lallan Singh of Dhanauti village under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district, had eloped with her lover Dhaneshwar Kumar alias Chhotu of the same village about two years ago and went to Haryana where they tied the nuptial knot.

After marriage, they came to Bikramganaj in Rohtas district and lived in a rented house there. On May 21, 2016, Puja Kumari’s brothers Rajesh Kumar and Kamlesh Kumar took her to their house at Dhanauti. Later, Police recovered her body from outskirts of Berath Jokriyadham under Chauri police station on May 25, 2016. Police had lodged an FIR against unknown persons but later made father of the deceased Lallan Singh accused after thorough investigation. After hearing, the ADJ awarded rigorous life imprisonment to Lallan Singh.
