SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, suspended

Patna : Bihar Government on April 17, 2018, suspended SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, a 2007 batch IPS officer with immediate effect. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) had on April 15, 2018, registered a case against under Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) against Vivek Kumar and carried out search operation on his residential premises at Muzaffarpur and Saharanpur, UP, on April 16, 2018.  Vivek Kumar was SSP, Muzaffarpur, since April 8, 2016.

City SP, Muzaffarpur, Upendra Nath Verma, was on April 17, 2018, given additional charge of SSP, Muzaffarpur, until further order. Upendra Nath Verma is a 2013 batch IPS officer. Home ( Police) Department, Bihar Government, issued a notification to this effect on April 17.

During suspension period, Vivek Kumar’s headquarters will be the office of DG ( Homeguards) -cum- Chief Commandant.
