Jharkhand, Bengal, Odisha, Chhattigarh cops to work in tandem

Ranchi :  Jharkhand cops will join hands with Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh police officers  to start a joint operation to wipe out naxalism and  checking criminal  activities in the bordering districts of these four states. The top cops of the four states will now hold meeting at least once in a fortnight to share vital information with each other.

A decision to this effect was taken  at an inter-state  coordination meeting held at Khukhri Guest House of Jharkhand Armed Police office at Ranchi under the leadership of Kolhan (Jharkhand)  DIG Saket Singh along with senior police officers of the four states on April 8, 2018. The top cops decided to create new check points  in the border districts  falling in their  respective zones which  according to them will also help in regular  vigilance keeping in mind  elections,  checking smuggling activities  and nabbing of criminals who often move to other states after committing heinous crime in their land  .

“ At the  meeting,  it was decided  that the SPs of bordering  districts concerned will definitely attend the meeting at least once  every month sharing intelligence  reports  of their zones which will help their counterparts  of other states  in keeping close eyes  on  law breakers and nabbing  them,” stated DIG Saket Singh talking to media persons after  the meeting.

In view of ensuing Municipal Bodies elections in Jharkhand  starting in last week of  April 2018,  Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Bengal states along with Jharkhand, which face naxal problems and cattle smuggling  activities, the four states are strengthening their policing, informed the  DIG  adding that  regular sharing of information  with each other  will  definitely help in nabbing law breakers.

Besides, DIG  Saket Singh and police officers  of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Bengal, Ranchi SSP Kuldip Dwivedi,  Ranchi rail DIG Amol Homkar, and SPs of Gumla, Lohardagga, Simdega, Khunti, Saraikela and Chaibasa  attended the high level meeting.
