Police seize 51 cartons of IMFL in Rohtas, 5 arrested

Sasaram : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at village Dihara under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district on April 7, 2018, morning, and seized 14 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), a countrymade pistol and three live rounds.

Police also arrested Dr Janbahadur of Sakari Ramnagar in Bhojpur district, Ajit Kumar and Bikram Singh of village Dihara, and Roushan Kumar of village Nunaw in Rohtas district. Police lodged a named FIR with Bikramganj police station against the four arrested persons under the  Excise & Prohibition Act and forwarded them to jail.

In another incident, Rohtas police conducted raids at village Bharat Kasba under Karakat police station in Rohtas district on April 7, 2018, morning, and seized 37 cartons of IMFL and a 9mm countrymade pistol and four live rounds. Police also arrested a suspected liquor smuggler Baleshwar Yadav.

SHO, Karakat police station, Sunil Kumar Jaiswal said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled into the district. The SHO with police force immediately swung into action and seized 37 cartons of IMFL while the consignment was being unloading from a Maruti 800 car near Aaganwadi centre. Later, the arrested Baleshwar Yadav was sent to jail after an FIR was lodged against him.
