Bagaha : Five poachers were arrested with four large snares to trap wildlife from Sector Number 10 of Madanpur Forest Range under Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran on March 29, 2018. They were to sent Bagaha jail.

Range Officer, Madanpur Forests, Anand Kumar on March 30, 2018, said that the arrested poachers identified as Dhyan Ram, Murli Ram and Rajkumar of village Chimani tola under Naurangia police station in West Champaran district, and Sheolal Prasad and Dharmendra Bharti of village Matiaria under Sohagibarawa police station in Maharajganj district in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested on a tip off.

A Forest Department team led by Santosh Kumar, Forester, Madanpur  range, revealed that the poachers had disclosed the names of some of their patrons. DFO, Division-2, VTR, Amit Kumar said that the chargesheet against the poachers will be submitted immediately for speedy trial of the accused.
