Police arrest 3 notorious criminals in W Champaran, seize car & liquor

Bettiah : A Special Task Force (STF) team of West Champaran district led by SDPO, Bettiah, Sanjay Kumar Jha, has arrested three notorious criminals with three firearms and over half -a-dozen live rounds and also seized a car and 4 cartons of IMFL.

Police sources said that West Champaran SP Jayant Kant, on a tip off on March 7, 2018, formed an STF team led by SDPO, Bettiah, Sanjay Kumar Jha, that arrested two criminals: Amit Kumar Rao of village Bathawaria under Bathawaria police station and Rajesh Kumar of Nautan police station, on March 7.

Police seized two countrymade fire arms, four live cartridges, 4 cortons of IMFLand a four wheeler from their possession, on March 7 from Ajad Chowk under Sirsia Police Outpost. The STF also conducted another raid at Nanoshati Chowk under Majhaulia police station on March 8, 2018, and arrested another notorious criminal Ashok Rao along with a countrypistol, a magazine  and six live cartridges.

Police source said that the arrested criminals confessed before the STF that they were  smuggling IMFL and firearms from UP into West Champaran. SDPO Jha said that police were searching for Ashok Rao since long as he was wanted in eight heinous criminal offences committed under Gaunaha, Shikarpur, Bettiah muffasil and Chanpatia police stations.
