49 panchayats of Bagaha to become ODF by Mar 2018

Bagaha : West Champaran district administration has initiated steps declared Bagaha -1 and Bagaha -2 blocks Open Defecation Free (ODF) under Swachh Bharat Mission by March 2018. Meeting to create awareness about it were held on February 3 and February 4, 2018, which wsa attended by local MLA, Pramukh, Mukhias and other public and political representatives besides block level officials and staff.

West Champaran DM Nilesh Ramchandra Deore addressed meeting at Bagaha-1 block headquarters on February 3 and exhorted public representatives and government employees to motivate villagers and make them aware of  importance of having toilets in every household. He asked all families to construct toilets on the government expenditure.

Another meting was held at Kutchery ground under Bagaha-2 block on February 4. MLA from Valmikinagar Dhirendra Pratap Singh, SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena, Bagaha-1 block BDO Ashok Kumar and others attended the meeting. The local administration has decided that 49 panchayats of the two blocks will achieve the target of ODF by the end of March 2018. Sources said that Piparasi block of the sub- division was declared ODF in last financial year.
