Truck driver’s bid to kidnap school girl foiled in Rohtas

Sasaram: A  truck driver lifted a teenage ninth class girl in his truck when she was returning home after her tuition at village Patnawa Khurd under Indrapuri police station under Dehri-on-Sone Sub-Division  in Rohtas district, on January  17,  2018, with a view to outraging her modesty. When she protested and raised an alarm, the driver beat and injured her.

Hearing her cry, the residents of the area chased the driver Manoj Kumar Vishwkarma of Amas in Gaya district, who was trying to flee dropping the injured girl behind. But, police chased the truck and arrested the driver and seized the truck. Later,  police forwarded him to jail. The residents of the area were furious after the incident and blocked the Dehri-Rohtas main road demanding of police to hand over the driver to them but Rohtas SP Manavjeet Singh Dhillo assured them that the driver would be penalised through speedy trial. After that the villagers lifted the blockade. Police also admitted the injured girl  to Dehri-on-Sone Sub-divisional hospital.
