Bonfire not visible anywhere in Bhojpur

Ara : Bhojpur District Magistrate(DM) Sanjeev Kumar had recently ordered the officials concerned to arrange for at vantage points under all the 14 blocks of Bhojpur district besides Shivganj, Gopali Chowk, Sheesh Mahal Chowk, Shubhash Chowk, Railway Station Campus, Gandhi Kushth Aashram in Ara town to provide relief to the poor and homeless in view of severe cold wave but it is not visible anywhere including Ara, the district headquarters.

Bone penetrating icy cold wave and foggy condition have thrown life of masses out of gear in Bhojpur district for the last 15 days. With the mercury dipping to 6 degree Celsius on January 7, 2018, coupled with cold wave sweeping the district for a fortnight, the slum swellers and homeless people have been left to fend for themselves. They include those  living at Rain Basera (shelters).

The cold wave has so far claimed six lives  in different parts of Bhojpur district. The poor are burning garbage thrown on the roads to escape the furry of nature and keep themselves warm.  Though DM Sanjeev Kumar had ordered the Circle Officer (CO), Ara, to arrange bonfire at different places and allotted fund for it,  but it is not visible anywhere at Ara.

The dense fog and very poor visibility has paralysed the road and rail traffic. Several trains are running late causing a lot of problem to the passengers on trains and those stranded at different railway stations.
